Project Overview
Catherine Friend, author from SE Minnesota, presented on her book Hit by a Farm, and shared her experiences as a "city girl” starting a farm, raising sheep, cattle, llamas, ducks, berries and more. As an author of children's books she spent some time reading to groups of children and talking to them about being a new farmer.

Measurable Outcome(s)
In response to an in-house survey, 79% strongly agreed that Catherine’s program met their expectations, and 71% strongly agreed her presentation was meaningful for people of all ages. 80% felt it was an enjoyable learning experience, and 80% believed her presentation enhanced their knowledge of story writing for kids and adults. 23% were new attendees who had never been to a similar event in the past.
