To hire a qualified architect to conduct a conditions assessment of the Ranier Community Building, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

1. A completion of a Dakota Language Survey of adult Upper Sioux Community members 2. The development of a Dakota Language Game Application 3. The development and implementation of Dakota Language Lesson Plans for three age groups for both in-person classes and on-line classes (adult, youth, and preschool) 4. The development of an online Dakota Language teaching tool of basic terms and usage that will be art of an existing website project being created by the Upper Sioux Community Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO).

Arts Experiences

To provide better organization of the museum's archival collections, allowing for greater public access to the community's historic resources.

We are hoping to continue to promote Minnesota art by bringing items back from prior years, but also improve our arts section for our fair. We would like to bring back our Birch Coulee Working Ranch Rodeo that shows our patrons the older styles of a working ranch such as cattle sorting, roping, and doctoring cattle. This also allows local participants to attend and try the different events it offers. Another popular activity we had was bringing a local blacksmith into our fair to show fairgoers the ways they created different tools in our past.

ECRAC Student Scholarship

To hire a qualified consultant to write text for an exhibit on the history of Polish and Kashubian people in Winona.

The SWCD Local Capacity Services grant program provides funds to Soil and Water Conservation Districts that focuses on increasing capacity to address four resource concern areas - Soil Erosion, Riparian Zone Management, Water Storage and Treatment, and Excess Nutrients.

To add 102 rolls of microfilmed Springfield, MN newspapers to make primary records more accessible to the public.

Arts Impact for Groups

Development of trails, access roads, parking, restrooms, picnic shelter, sand volleyball and improvements to the rental chalet.
