1) We are intending to book a family comedy/magic performance by the name of "Mixed Nuts". They are based out of St. Paul, Minnesota. , 2) We have a One Room School house that is in need of repair and paint. We are intending to use the remaining money from the legacy grant to fulfill the needed attention to this historical attraction at our Becker County Fair.
Ojibwemotaadidaa Omaa Gidakiiminaang - Complete staff field trainings led by elder-first speakers focused on ricing, trapping, sugar bush and basket-making. Produce high quality audio files of the language of each cultural activity and develop immersion curriculum for each incorporating the audio. Apply, test and disseminate the curriculum through workshops focused on each activity. Develop searchable archives for the audio files in teh Fond du Lac College Library.
1. Coordinate language instruction for Grand Portage students from Head Start to Cook Country High School in order to produce fluent speakers. 2. Establish language programming for families: language table, radio program, and language camps. 3. Promotoe collaboration on Ojibwe language programs among federal, state, local, and reservation entities. 4. Develop new Ojibwe language projects based on community input.
We will be able to use this money to pay for the free entertainment for fairgoers, such as Doug Ohman. He is from our wonderful state of Minnesota, and has a wide variety of history and items of storytelling as well as making it fun and interesting. This is someone whom all ages can benefit from regarding history of our home state. We will also have a glass blower, Steven Weagel, who is from Pequot Lakes, MN. He provides all equipment to give educational and informative entertaining experience to everyone with shows every hour.
The projects planned for the grant funds focus on essential updates and enhancements to our historic building, ensuring that we can continue to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all who visit. The proposed improvements include upgrading our HVAC system, kitchen, and security infrastructure; rebuilding the handicap ramp for improved accessibility; sourcing new patio furniture; and resealing the venue's dance floor. Each of these initiatives is designed to maintain the integrity of our facility while enhancing the experience of our diverse audience.

The idea was not to focus on teaching Ojibwe, but rather to use the language as the medium of instruction in all subjects.
