To remodel an existing commercial building to be established as the Pillager Arts Center. The Pillager Arts Center will be an epicenter for arts education for the community and serve as a space where people can interact with other creative minds.
To update and enhance cultural heritage exhibits at the Cass County Fair. Projects will include brightening display areas, installing speakers, and removing outdated displays to replace with new exhibits of art and cultural artifacts from the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwa and other pieces relating to regional heritage.

Preservation of a historically important collection of photographs, taken for the purposes of insurance underwriting in the mid-1950's, was the goal of this project. Appropriate storage was researched and determined. Archival grade sleeves and storage boxes were obtained. An inventory of all photographs was performed, cataloged and entered into a professional software database. Digital imaging of the original photographic prints provides researchers with a sustainable alternative to viewing the prints.

Minnesota has long been committed to preserving its natural heritage.
In partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, US Fish and Wildlife Service, the University of Minnesota and other conservation organizations, the Minnesota Zoo plays a significant role in these preservation efforts by addressing pressing wildlife conservation issues important to our State.
Legacy funds allow the Minnesota Zoo to expand our field conservation and educational programs with a focus on animals and habitats closely aligned with Minnesota’s cultural identity.
The Cass Gilbert Society website was expanded and upgraded with special emphasis on the buildings and other works of Cass Gilbert. Previously the site featured 40 works. That number has been doubled to 80 works. All are illustrated with historic and/or contemporary photographs. All are linked to published references and/or online resources. A major innovation was the development and incorporation of a searchable database for the featured works. As more featured works are added, they will be incorporated into the searchable database.
With the grant the Northfield Public Library was able to research, write and published a centennial history of the Northfield Carnegie Library entitled "Everlasting Influences: The Centennial History of the Northfield Carnegie Public Library 1910-2010."
