Legislation passed in 2009, Chapter 172, states the need for a printed map product, as well as a web-based interface that is available to the public. Facilities included on the general legislative printed map (or booklet) will be State and Regional parks, State and major Regional trails, State Forest Campgrounds and Day-Use Areas, and basic information on how to access more information on these facilities.

At Hwy 41 construct an underpass connecting the trail on the E & W side of Hwy 41, construct trail on U of M Landscape Arboretum property to Minnewashta Parkway.

Funding would implement trail rehabilitation, access and accessibility improvements, and connections to transit throughout Theodore Wirth Regional Park. This funding is for the same project described in the FY 2023 Parks and Trails Legacy request. It has been determined through community engagement to focus efforts on trail rehabilitation, wayfinding, and accessibility.
Funding would be allocated to two major projects in the park. A portion would improve wayfinding throughoughout the park and also address trail surface conditions, realign trail routes to make them less confusing or more accessible, and provide visitor comfort facilities like benches, restroom enclosures, and drinking fountains. A portion would be used to stabilize eroding slopes and restore degraded forest habitat in the vicinity of Twin Lake.
