The Legacy Field Trip Support Fund helped 24,444 Minnesota students in 298 schools experience field trips at Minnesota historic sites and museums statewide in FY15. The high cost of transportation prohibits many Minnesota teachers from taking their students on field trips. The Legacy Field Trip Support Fund offsets transportation costs to all of MNHS's 26 museums and historic sites statewide.
LSA is a statewide project that builds on the achievements realized during the first five years of Legacy funding. The LSA is a strategic document and a resource for the work of statewide history communities over the next four years. Legacy Goals
MNHS launched several new marketing tools that spread the word of exhibitions and related programs supported by Legacy funding. A new MNHS programs and events magazine is reaching more Minnesotans than ever before, and a new partnership with the Star Tribune advertises MNHS programs twice per month next to the paper's new Minnesota history column by Curt Brown. Additional marketing through print, broadcast, outdoor, and online communications have also contributed to impressive gains in attendance and awareness of the Legacy-funded programs and exhibits presented by MNHS.
A website called "Minnesota's Legacy" was created by the Minnesota Legislature to help citizens monitor how dollars from the Legacy Amendment and the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund are being invested in the state. This appropriation is being used by the Legislative Coordinating Commission to assist with the administration of the website.
Per M.S. 116P.09, up to 4% of the amount available for appropriation from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF) for a biennium is available for expenses related to LCCMR administration. These expenses include the LCCMR's project selection and approval process and its ongoing oversight of projects funded by the ENRTF, including both new projects funded during the biennium and existing projects funded in previous bienniums. This appropriation is for the upgrade and modernization of a project records management system.

This project will initiate the process of community engagement in the LeSueur River watershed by assessing the needs and interests of the community and bringing a diverse set of stakeholders together to determine how best to foster action in improving and protecting water quality.
The Lac qui Parle River suffers from low dissolved oxygen and high bacteria levels. Lac qui Parle County recognizes the need for a Level 3 Feedlot Inventory to use as a tool for targeting outreach efforts and financial assistance to improve the river and protect other unimpaired surface waters of the County. This project will allow the county to hire a temporary part time staff person to complete a Level 3 Feedlot Inventory.
