To reduce wear on fifty Minneapolis high school yearbooks, dating from 1890-1922, they were made accessible to the public through digitization. This highly used collection is housed in the Minneapolis Central Library's Special Collection.
The digitized books can now be found online at the Hennepin County Library homepage and on its Special Collections page. They are searchable by keyword or can be veiwed page-by-page.
The goal of the High Island Creek Watershed Pollutant Load Monitoring project is to assist the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) with meeting the objectives of the Watershed Pollutant Load Monitoring Network (WPLMN). This will be accomplished by conducting water chemistry monitoring at two specified stream locations from ice out through October 31, capturing snow melt, rainfall events and base flow conditions. In addition, project staff will compile and submit the required data, information, and reports, and calculate pollutant loads using the FLUX32 model.
This research project will demonstrate that high temperature anaerobic digestion is highly effective at treating sewage sludge, particularly with respect to destroying disease-causing microorganisms and antibiotic resistance genes.
The City of St. Cloud is proposing a project that will enhance a critical bat hibernaculum in central Minnesota. The DNR protected Highbanks Bat Hibernaculum is a brick-and-mortar structure constructed in the early 1900s. The hibernaculum has historically been home to hundreds of bats, but over the past several years, stormwater flow and flooding to the top of the structure have been detrimental for the bats to roost.
The City of St. Cloud will be rerouting and upgrading their existing stormwater system in the Highbanks Ravine area working with the DNR to preserve an existing bat hibernaculum.
No project funds were spent. The Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council did not request that any services be performed with project funds. Accordingly, the $50,000 appropriation will be returned to the Outdoor Heritage Fund.

Legacy funds were used at the James J. Hill House for reproductions of two historic textiles: a Persian carpet in Hill's den and a canopy shade for the art gallery. The previous canopy, also a reproduction, was 28 years old, stained and faded. Both the canopy and the reproduction Persian carpet will be seen by all site visitors and will enhance the Hill House for decades to come.
