Natural Encounters EdZooCation programs
Como's Residency program offers a Minnesota class an entire week of educational programming at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. When school is out, Como will provide free outreach classes at a variety of traditional and non-traditional education institution at their locations.
$1,350,000 each year is for a grant to to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory for program development that features education programs and habitat enhancement, special exhibits, music appreciation programs, and historical garden access and preservation.
Students report in the post-questions that they have an increase understanding on how their choices and actions impact conservation and the plants and animals around the world; Teachers feel there is a better understanding of the students connection between plants and animals while the program supports MN education standards.
