Exhibit and Artist Talks: Jon Solinger and Working Land
Photographer Jon Solinger's Working Land exhibit traveled to seven venues in the region, on display at each location for 3-6 weeks and including an artist talk. At each presentation, Solinger described the history of the Working Land exhibit, which began as a major exhibit for the Historical And Cultural Society of Clay County in 2015, then became a book by the same title in 2016 and a traveling exhibit in 2017. Referring to specific photographs included in the exhibit, Solinger described the people, animals, and machines and their connections to the rural environment. The families featured in the photographs live and work in Otter Tail County, in the Viking Library System area.
