This project will make updates to existing information and incorporate new information into the Minnesota Stormwater Manual including monitoring, modeling, and pond assessment guidance to assist permittees in satisfying the municipal stormwater (MS4) permit requirements and water quality case studies for MS4 permittees.
A professional historian was hired to prepare a nomination of the Duluth Missabe and Iron Range Depot to the National Register of Historic Places. The project's documentation was found to meet Secretary of Interior standards. The Depot was determined to be eligible for National Register Nomination.
The Chippewa Falls Townhall has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979 as part of the Terrace Mill Historic District.
Storm damage accelerated the need for repairs to the more deteriorated areas of the building. Four areas were identified for this repair project. Roof shingles were replaced, the bell tower was restored, cornice returns were reconstructed and window frames and sashes were repaired, reglued and repainted. These maintainance measures are estimated to provide the building with protection from the elements for the next twenty years.
The society purchased 40 double-sided display racks and rack stands for a two-part exhibit. The first part of the exhibit, writing and displaying township histories has been completed. The second part, writing and displaying biographies of early settlers to each township using the 1900 census and plat maps, was only partially completed.

Through State Library Services, a division of the Minnesota Department of Education, each regional library system is eligible to receive a formula-driven allocation from the annual $2.5 million Minnesota Regional Library System Legacy Grant. Traverse des Sioux Library System (TdS) is a federated regional public library system providing central services located in southcentral Minnesota.

Water flows without concern for political jurisdiction boundaries. This often means project work requires a little more coordination. Jackson, Cottonwood and Murray County did the extra coordination to land a grant to reduce sediment to the West Fork of the Des Moines River. The approved grant has four separate projects inthree counties.Jackson County has two projects: the Federated Rural Electric Association sediment control structure and the City of Jackson bioswale.
This project will build off the success of the additional geographic information system (GIS) and water planning expertise the TSA8 added in 2016 to provide consistent mapping, water planning assistance and training to partners. This project will help soil and water conservation districts prepare for the 1W1P process before the planning starts. A unified protection methodology is essential for the 1W1P process to be successful. This project will include: unified GIS mapping and protection model for all nine counties respectively.
This project will complete a chloride management plan which will lay out a strategy for addressing chloride impacts to our surface waters for the 7-county metropolitan area. This chloride management plan will satisfy EPA requirements for impaired waters, address waters not yet listed, and develop a strategy to protect waters that are currently meeting the water quality standards.

This project is the second phase of updating the Two Rivers watershed Hydrologic Simulation Program FORTRAN (HSPF) model. This project includes calibration of the model and including a proposed impoundment in the model. An analysis of possible downstream water quality impacts will also be done.
The primary objective of this project is to extend the simulation period of the Two Rivers Watershed Hydrological Simulation Program FORTRAN (HSPF) model through 2017 to support future simulation and assessment of the planned Klondike impoundment.
The City of Hallock, with funding from LSOHC, restored and enhanced habitat to facilitate fish passage by retrofitting the existing Hallock Dam on the South Branch of the Two Rivers and re-established a stable riffle-pool habitat downstream. In addition to the fish habitat improvement , the project has provided enhanced recreational opportunities for paddlers along the river.
This project will provide modeling services to support the completion of the Typo Lake and Martin Lake Excess Nutrients TMDL report. A Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) report quantifies pollutant levels, identifies sources of pollution, and proposes ways to bring water quality back to an acceptable level.
Pharmaceuticals, hormones, and other contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) are found in surface waters in Minnesota and nationally. CECs can cause adverse ecological and human health impacts, and occur as complex mixtures in the environment. One of the greatest barriers to addressing the problem of CECs is a lack of understanding of where these compounds come from and which sources dominate in different locations and at different times.
This work order will provide the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) with assistance in assembling, graphics, geographic information system (GIS) maps, data synthesis, writing, formatting and editing the 5-year nutrient reduction strategy progress report and update and similar updates for the Sediment Reduction Strategy. The Sediment Strategy update also involves incorporation of modeling results and other technical information into the 2015 strategy document.

Complete the update to the 1975 Phalen Regional Park Master Plan begun with 2010 Parks and Trails Fund grant to respond to current facility conditions, demographics, regional recreation trends, and sustainable carrying capacity. ?Includes planning for Phalen and Round Lakes in St. Paul Park's jurisdiction and coordination with Ramsey County Park's plans for Keller and Spoon Lake Regional Park.
The goal of this project is to obtain key information needed to update the Nutrient Reduction Strategy based on watershed approach experiences over the past five years.
This church, built in 1901 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, had its electrical service updated. The main circuit breaker and subfeed panels were replaced. An outdoor electrical outlet was replaced and several more outlets were added to the interior. Larger supply wires were installed to improve capacity for future handicap accessible improvements to the building.

Project goal is to develop Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) and Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategies (WRAPS) that will protect and improve water quality for the Minnesota portion of the Mississippi River–Reno and Upper Iowa River watersheds. This information paired with other tools (e.g. Hydrologic Simulation Program FORTRAN (HSPF) models and best management practice spreadsheets) and will support restoration and protection strategy development and prioritization efforts in the 1W1P area.

This project will improve water quality in the heart of Douglas County?s livestock country. The goal of the project is to improve drinking water quality by upgrading, replacing or closing existing damaged or unpermitted manure storage areas, in addition to addressing open lot runoff. Five project locations have been identified and up to 4 more are anticipated to be identified in the next two years, for a total of up to 10 projects. Estimated pollution reduction is 421 pounds of nitrogen and 122 pounds of phosphorus.
