To design and install climate control that meets museum standards in order to better preserve collections that document African American history in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Historical Society brought the only traveling copy of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights to Minnesota in the exhibit, "We the People: The First Official Printing of the U.S. Constitution" on view at the Minnesota History Center April 3 – July 4, 2012. The exhibit featured a rare, early version of the U.S. Constitution, published in 1787, and an even more rare draft of the Bill of Rights, along with original editions of the two state of Minnesota Constitutions.
As preparation for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places, MHM gathered data (drawings, photographs and measurements) of the dry nautical portion (approximately 25%) of the sternwheel steamer, The Andy Gibson. A trench was dug alongside of the steamer to expose the condition of the portion of the steamer covered by 3-4 feet of soil. A food memoir book with the working title of “Hand to Mouth: A Daughter’s Memory and a Mother’s Legacy of Vietnamese Food” about my complicated relationship with Vietnamese food and how cultivating that relationship over time influenced my desire to learn about my Vietnamese culture and family history.
The primary goals of this project will be to expand American Indian studies curriculum offerings to include language practice and introduce theories or language development and revitalization to support more college students to fluency in the language and culture. Additionally, this project will develop advanced Ojibwe language to allow intermediate Anishinaabe speakers to become more advanced and fluent in the language.

To provide comedy ventriloquism and variety marionette shows and provide accompanying workshops on the construction and use of sock puppets. Puppets are a powerful way of bringing story to life and appeal to adults and children alike. The show will stimulate imagination and allow children to learn through play.

A group of 16 Latino youth ages 10-12 will meet bi-weekly to explore a cultural curriculum developed in collaboration with educators, artists, community members, and the youth themselves. We will investigate and celebrate our culture, traditions, music, and art, as well as improve our Spanish reading and writing in a safe place out of the home. Youth who attend will feel more confident about themselves, their identity and feel closer to their roots and family members.
1) We will teach the tradition of Arabic drumming to community members, and present this music to the Twin Cities in a series of outdoor concerts open to all. This will include audience talkbacks by local SWANA Humanities scholars.
2) We will recruit 6 local SWANA (Southwest Asian/North African) community members to work together to develop their writing in a safe and supportive community setting. The product will be presented as staged readings with talkbacks by local SWANA Humanities scholars.

In 2006, Ramsey County Historical Society (RCHS) purchased an additional 1.5 acres of the original Gibbs farmstead located adjacent to the existing Gibbs Museum property in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. This purchase provided the impetus for updating and expanding the interpretive programs at Gibbs Museum of Pioneer and Dakotah Life and creating a new master plan and landscape plan for the Museum.

As preparation to additional historic preservation work on the Odeon Theatre, listed in the national Register of Historic Places, a qualified historical architect was hired to inspect and evaluate the building. Issues of safety/building codes, accessibility concerns, weather-tightness and future functional improvements were addressed. The final report included a mechanical/electrical evaluation of the building and its proposed future addition. Improvements will include accessible restrooms, a second accessible exit, expanded storage space and the repair of the stage floor.
