Andrew J. Volstead House: Interpretive Plan
To hire a qualified consultant to write an interpretive plan for the Andrew J. Volstead House, a National Historic Landmark.
The Granite Falls Historical Society received funding to create a new interpretive plan for the Andrew J. Volstead House and Museum. This plan was created in preparation for the 100th anniversary of the passing of the Volstead Act, which marked the beginning of Prohibition in America. This involved conducting research with the public and at other house-museums to help generate ideas on how the museum ought to be run, create a more engaging house tour program, and establish guiding principles for future museum operations. The Granite Falls Historical Society hopes that these efforts will put the Volstead House on the map as the central destination for Minnesota’s Prohibition history.
