The Children's Museum of Rochester, Inc. will be implementing a program called Passport To Play aiming to increase the number of children and families of all ages, ethnicities, abilities and incomes to participate in hands-on arts and cultural programming and educational exhibits at the museum. Passport To Play would reach over 1,500 children and families a year from underserved communities in Southeastern Minnesota. The Children's Museum of Rochester, Inc.
Choral Arts Ensemble partnering with two community groups, will provide 3 free public concerts, with an educational talk, to engage underserved members of the public in meaningful arts performances.
The Chamber Music Society of Saint Cloud will present of series of six concerts by visiting professional ensembles, along with a variety of community outreach activities.
The College of Saint Benedict will present a free outdoor concert series, Sunset Stages at Saint Benedict’s, designed to specifically engage the Saint Joseph community and featuring Minnesota artists.
The Theatre 4 All Initiative will eliminate barriers to ensure access to quality live theater for 1,000 disadvantaged youth in St. Cloud's inner-city schools.
Riverside Concerts, Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestra, and Honors Choir of Southeast Minnesota will bus 5,000 fourth and fifth graders from across southeastern Minnesota to educational youth concerts at the Mayo Civic Center on 4/21/2011; teachers will receive an advance study guide to prepare students for the concerts.
This project expands arts opportunities for participation and enjoyment of Bella Voce Young Women's Choir by underserved populations based on financial, gender, and geographical barriers.
