Itasca State Park design of phase II of the bike trail
This project accomplished the design of the next phase of the new bike trail at Itasca State Park, from the Mississippi Rover to the Oziwindib group center. Portions of the bike trail follow the park road, which is a very dangerous situation for both bikers and motorists. This project will remove this safety risk. The DNR will seek 2016 bonding to construct Phase II.
$16821000 the first year and $16953000 the second year are for state parks recreation areas and trails to:
(1) connect people to the outdoors;
(2) acquire land and create opportunities;
(3) maintain existing holdings; and
(4) improve cooperation by coordinating with partners to implement the 25-year long-range parks and trails legacy plan.
