History Museum Fellows Program
Partner: The University of Minnesota--Twin Cities
Through this partnership, University of Minnesota students from diverse backgrounds explored the museum field through a semester-long course at the University of Minnesota and then a paid summer internship at the Minnesota Historical Society. The course introduced the students to issues related to diversity and museums. Students then chose from a wide range of internship positions and also interacted with professionals in the field during a museum study trip to Washington, D.C. The History Museum Fellows Program also engages students in discussions about ways to address the underrepresentation of communities of color and American Indian nations in historical organizations and public history graduate programs.
History Partnerships. $1,500,000 the first year and $1,500,000 the second year are for partnerships involving multiple organizations, which may include the Minnesota Historical Society, to preserve and enhance access to Minnesota's history and cultural heritage in all regions of the state.
