Project Overview

Educational programs at the museum consist of a variety of science and art based offerings targeted towards children from preschool through grade 5. The museum will expand its programs by developing on and off-site options for early elementary age populations, those between 5 and 10 years of age. With over 34% of families in the region having incomes below minimum wage, families struggle to find meaningful experiences for their children. Educational program expansion is designed to meet the needs of the community, with development decisions based on feedback from community surveys of family based care providers, center based care providers, homeschoolers and museum visitors.
