GRRL continued to have branch staff plan and implement programs for their individual branches to meet community interests. Each branch will receive funds to hire authors, performers, presenters, or exhibitors which meet the Arts & Cultural Heritage definitions.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Branch staff planned a variety of events based on local interest, including art workshops with local artists, author visits and history presentations, concerts and other performing arts for all ages. A selection of feedback is included for the report in the three categories below.

Authors, literary arts & history events:
Thanks for the learning experience and the fun!
I thought it was interesting and I am really into these types of events.
Educational but fun too!
It was wonderful--we traveled here just for this program for our 5-year-old.
Very educational and fun. Not only did my kids enjoy this as well as I did, too and we all learned.
Please continue having these Legacy programs in outer Minnesota communities. They are so rewarding and we can't make it to larger towns like St. Cloud.
Please keep these valuable programs coming to our small, rural libraries--their need here cannot be over-emphasized.
[Learned about] the amazing gifts of our Hmong population.

Art events and workshops:
It's great to use different materials to see the different outcomes and see the creativity come out.
[I learned] paint techniques, laying, dry brushing, blending.
Tried something I would never do on my own! Met new people, I had fun.
[Learned] how to blend colors using watercolors and water with speciali brushes.
Learned something I've never done before. Instructor was very helpful.
Thank you so much for providing this services, I had a super great time.
Love creating and making art. So much fun!

A great activity and my kids enjoyed it as well.

Performing arts:

Enjoyed how he presented his music--music he wrote was so good.
Absolutely wonderful storytelling and quality guitar skills.
Learned some things that happened in history.

This is not the type of music I generally listen to, and it was great [to] experience new music by a talented group.
We painted and laughed for two hours--loved it!
Great entertainer and performer--love hearing of and listening to the history of American music from the early years! Very informative!
It was entertaining and enriching to hear some favorite old songs I hadn't heard for a time, and their backstories.
