Music, art, and history programming planned regionally. Individual branches have the option to be part of regionally-planned tours of performers and presenters on a variety of historical, cultural, and artistic topics, or genres of arts (visual, performance, etc.).

Measurable Outcome(s)

In 2019, Great River Regional Library had events with a variety of performers and presenters who toured the region to offer events at multiple library locations.

Authors/literary arts & history: In the first half of 2019, events included authors Brian Freeman, Frank Weber, Joe Kimball, Julie Klassen, Chad Lewis, and Doug Ohman. History presentations were done by Arn Kind.
It was very informative about happenings in Minnesota.
It is fun to get out and see so many others interest in the same subjects as I am.
The visuals and the history was a renewal of Minnesota awareness.
Saw scenery and heard stories we wouldn't get anywhere else. Very good and fun speaker. Easy way to learn stuff.
The program gave me more information on how to do more in-depth genealogy searches.
Encourages me to read more books by the author.
[Learned about] history of the area.
[Learned] Minnesota history and geography.
Love his storytelling and photography.
[Learned about] heritage of barns in Minnesota, history and development of the barn. Excellent speaker who engaged the audience, told stories well, and used slides of his photography to illustrate program.
It was absolutely enjoyable, very inspiring!

[Got] better insight into what my father experienced as a medic at Normany Beach. Amazing presentation. He sure knew his subject and covered so well.

Art workshops: Art workshops were offered with Jen Anfinson, Peter Haakon Thompson & the Mobile Sign Shop, and Mark Rivard.
It was nice to have something creative and social to do. The activity was fun and the explanations were simple and easy to understand. Thanks!

Performing arts: Performers included singer/guitarist Dave Cofell, Fred Keller and his band Skally Line, Andrew Walesch, Robert Halbrook, Nathan Stockwell, Dave Walbridge, the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet, and the Oz Brothers.
Fun to learn the background of the music.
