Alysa has been a fan of parks, trails, and nature from a young age as she spent her childhood playing in the fields and forests of Central Maryland. Her passion for the outdoors led her across the Southeastern U.S. and through Central America for her education and socio-environmental research. After a year at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Alysa now serves as the Parks & Natural Resources Coordinator for Scott County Parks in Partnership with Three Rivers Park District. In this multidimensional role, Alysa has been immersed in the planning, community engagement, and natural resources management processes. Alysa is also a constant health and nature advocate; she participates in frequent health and nature discussions and was selected as a SHIFT (Shaping How we Invest For Tomorrow – Health & Nature Non-Profit) Emerging Leader of 2020. She looks forward to being able to share her diverse geographic perspective while exploring and contributing to the amazing parks and trails systems within Minnesota. Alysa lives in Eden Prairie with her partner, James, and their dog, Maeby, both of whom often accompany Alysa on her many adventures.
