This project will build a sustainable inter-agency private and public Camp Ripley landscape forest restoration program which includes:
Prescribed Fire (550 acres)
Habitat Restoration (90 acres)
Forest Management Plans (65)
To hire a qualified architect to conduct a conditions assessment of the Pipestone Historic Water Tower, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
THA erected an interpretive marker at the site of the former Carlos Boynton Land Company Ranch to provide public access to the story surrounding the ranch.. Volunteers provided the labor to dig the post hole, install the post and mount the weather-proof marker.
The Camp Ripley ACUB Phase VII project protected 598.2 acres of high quality habitat along the Crow Wing, Gull, Nokasippi, and Mississippi River corridors through nine conservation easements.
Phase VIII of the RIM Camp Ripley Sentinel Landscape ACUB Partnership will utilize permanent conservation easements to acquire 1,325-acres of high quality habitat along the Crow Wing, Long Prairie, Gull, Nokasippi, and Mississippi River corridors and lake watersheds. Approximately 22 easements will be secured within the project area. BWSR will utilize the RIM easement process in partnership with the Morrison SWCD to secure habitat corridor easements on sites within Crow Wing, Cass, and Morrison counties during the appropriation term.
In 2022, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) will engage in Intensive Watershed Monitoring in the Missouri River Basin which includes four watersheds. Through this agreement, the Pipestone Soil and Water Conservation District will assist with this effort by monitoring seven stream sites in three of the targeted watersheds. The sites are located on Medary Creek, Flandreau Creek, Pipestone Creek, Rock River (x2), Poplar Creek, and Chanarambie Creek. The sites were chosen by the MPCA and agreed upon by local entities.

MCHS accomplished more than the stated goal to finish the inventory of the remaining half of an estimated 8000+ items. A total of 17,000 items were inventoried. The MCHS now has a more accurate and complete resource for access and control of the collections.
