Starting in 1972 as an activists’ picnic in Loring Park, the Twin Cities Pride Festival has become the major annual celebration of the GLBT community. Many attractions, including four stages of entertainment, attest to the popularity of this event.

Funding for Ashland Collaborative Theater or ACT!, a collaborative theater arts experience for elementary-aged youth and culminating in four staged performances at the Maplewood Performing Arts Theatre in January through March.
Funding to stage the 18th Annual Halloween Outdoor Puppet Extravaganza, a free outdoor pageant and performance that will take place at Hidden Falls Regional Park in St. Paul in October 2011.

Funding to produce and stage the satire, Mrs. Smith Presents… A Benefit for the Carlyle Foundation Empowerment School for People and Cats with Severe and Persistent Challenges. Performances will be held at the Southern Theater in January 2011.

The College of Saint Benedict will present a free outdoor concert series, Sunset Stages at Saint Benedict’s, designed to specifically engage the Saint Joseph community and featuring Minnesota artists.
Funding for the first annual Midtown Global Jazz Festival, featuring a lineup of global Jazz genres, art vendors, ethnic food, and an educational stage. The festival will take place in July 2011 outside the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis.
