Staffing, programming, supplies and contracted services to operate a Park Ambassador Program within the Hyland/Bush/Andersen Lakes Regional Park that would focus on increasing usage by minorities and other underrepresented populations by conducting community outreach, meet and greet park users, education of regulations, address reservation/maintenance concerns and creating programs of interest to underserved segments of the public developed based upon surveys, engagement and outreach.
This project will improve infrastructure associated with non-motorized boating on Minneapolis lakes. Canoe/kayak racks will be installed at multiple locations, and sailboat tether buoys will be installed on Minneapolis lakes. The intended outcome is to provide additional opportunities for the public to access the lakes in personal non-motorized watercraft. Current numbers of racks and buoys are insufficient and waiting lists are long.
Upgrade software and hire consultant services to assist in providing multilingual services for park users in St. Croix Bluffs and Lake Elmo Park. Consultant tasks would include design guidance and direction in effective communication methods to non-native speakers

This project entailed a number of small individual improvements to the park made over a 3 year period, including constructing a drinking fountain with an accessible sidewalk at the beach in Buffalo River State Park, repairing a broken water line, rebuilding the main park entrance sign, purchasing sand to stem the flooding of nearby Buffalo R into the beach area, purchasing accessible fire rings, and purchase of new park signs.

Minnehaha Parkway Regional Trail build a trail to connect Minnehaha Parkway Regional Trail below Lyndale Avenue. Includes landscaping, site utilities, plus related survey and site investigations, design and engineering, and project management.
This project includes improvements to mechanical systems, pool plaster repair, cooling unit replacements, concession equipment and playground removal and shade shelter replacement. These items will ensure the functionality of the various facilities within Bunker Beach to ensure visitor satisfaction.
This project will provide for the overall redevelopment of Bunker Hills Regional Park, deliverables include community engagement, design, engineering and reconstruction of roadways, trails and parking lots, playground replacement, maintenance facility and security improvements and natural resource restoration. This project will also help support reconstruction of the picnic pavilions, including any site work needed surrounding the pavilions.
This project will include design, engineering and start construction of the lazy river pedestrian bridge located within Bunker Beach Water Park in Bunker Hills Regional Park. This project will provide a safe crossing over the lazy river to access other amenities within the water park. This is the first funding phase of this project.
This project saw the electrification of campsites in Camden State Park. In all there are 12 new electric sites (20/30/50 amp) and 29 upgraded sites (20/30amp to 20/30/50amp).

The I Can Camp! program provides people new to the outdoors with a safe and comfortable way to learn the basics of tent camping, through first-hand experience, providing all equipment and instruction, combined with conservation education and hands-on outdoor recreational skills activities. The DNR offered and conducted two, overnight workshops each week from June 4 through the September 4, 2011.
This program is designed to attract new audiences to Minnesota State Parks. Primarily young families and young adults that often look beyond state parks for their means of recreation, along with youth looking for an “extreme” or “adventure” experience. Programs will offer participants the opportunity to experience rock climbing, outdoors on real rock. This program targets the state’s climbing parks (Blue Mounds, Interstate and Tettegouche State Parks) by offering one “I Can Climb!” - rock climbing experience - every month from June to August at each of the climbing parks.

The “I Can Paddle!” program is designed to provide participants with first-hand opportunities to learn basic skills necessary for planning and taking a safe, fun and efficient canoe trip on both Minnesota’s lakes and rivers.
