To contract with qualified professionals to prepare planning documents for the preservation of the Lyric Building, a contributing property in the Virginia Commercial Historic District, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and reused as an arts facility.
Use mobile AI-assisted technologies to survey lake visitors. Assess perceptions of water quality and perceived threats. Combine survey data with water quality data and trend monitoring to inform lake management.
Voices of Black Leadership is a vodcast, video podcast series which highlights Black leaders across these strategic focus areas of the African American Leadership Forum: public safety, education, economic infrastructure, health, and housing. This comprises our work known as United By Black Powered By All. This series is intended to inform the broader community of the racial equity work in Minnesota and who is leading these efforts along with how the community can get involved.
The purpose of this project is to collect data sets of specific parameters selected by the MPCA while fostering citizen interest and participation in surface water monitoring.
The Education and Volunteer Coordinators were established for program development/implementation. They will increase efforts to connect, recruit, lead, and coordinate people to our regional parks while developing a deeper relationship with recreation staff, schools and other groups. Funding may also be used for supplies associated with this program.
The volunteer coordinator recruits, trains, and recognizes volunteers who help assist with operations and programs in a variety of settings. Some care for the animals, some the garden, some assist with programs, some do projects within the park.

This project will collect data for 8 lakes and 4 stream sites in 2010 and 2011. The lakes included in this project have little or no data, or are lakes where citizens have asked for monitoring assistance.
Wolf survival and predation in summer are almost unknown but critical to deer, moose, and wolf, management. We'll study wolf predator-prey ecology, share charismatic natural history, and promote Voyageurs' region.
Wetlands in large lakes in the Voyageurs National Park area have been degraded by invasive cattails, which reduces biodiversity, degrades fish/wildlife habitat, and outcompetes wild rice/manoomin. Phases 1&2 of the project entailed refinement of restoration methods. We will continue mechanical treatment methods in Phase 3 to remove invasive cattails and other vegetation, including use of contracted harvesting machines, NPS owned-cutting machines, and hand crews in more inaccessible areas.
