Elementary students of the Dawson-Boyd School District will experience multi-curricular learning by creating with five roster artists in the areas of music, storytelling, theater, poetry, mosaics, and interdisciplinary art through school residencies and community activities.
Due to Essar Steel (a company from India that purchased Minnesota Steel) opening in 2011, the Reif Center will support Ragamala Dance in touring residencies for area schools/organizations. The focus is introducing Indian dance, art, and culture into our communities.
In season 2010-2011, the St. Croix Concert Series will present four chamber music concerts accompanied by outreach activities in two elementary schools, a junior high school, the Stillwater Public Library, and Croixdale Senior Citizen residence.
Funding for the new “Vivace West” music education and performance program for students in grades 2 to 8 in Rosemount and Savage. The project will run from September 2011 through April 2012.
Funds will assist musician Aaron Tank to conduct five song-sharing workshops and folk music performances in Region 2, and give original recordings to workshop participants.

Funds will assist the Beltrami County Historical Society to produce “The Middle Years 1941-1963,” a 56-minute TV documentary of Bemidji and Beltrami County which will combine historic overviews of world events and the relationship to our community.
Funds will assist Bemidji State University Theater to produce William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, in conjunction with a visiting professional costume designer, for the general public and local schools.
Funds will assist Bemidji Symphony Orchestra to host a performance with Carol Wincenc, a world-renowned flute soloist, who will also provide a master class to regional music students and symphony players.
Funds will help provide opportunities for public education, reflection, and dialogue before and after a performance of Murry Sidlin’s “Defiant Requiem” by the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra on May 1, 2011.
Funds will assist Boys and Girls Club of the Bemidji Area to offer courses for Club members, aged 6-18, to learn to draw using charcoal pencil and to learn the basics of pottery on two tabletop potters wheels.
Funds will assist CSSI/Hope house in hiring two artists-in-residence to teach painting and writing skills to people with long-term mental illness, and a public exhibition of the completed projects.
Funds will assist Paul Bunyan Playhouse in offering a drama camp for young actors in grade six through high school from the Bemidji Public Schools Summer Learning Communities.
Funds will assist Red Lake Nation Boys and Girls Club Unit 2 Ponemah to encourage youth and elders to participate in community art projects to help promote the well being of their culture through hands-on experience and verbal awareness.
Funding for youth visual arts programming consisting of the annual Art on the Lawn community event and a series of 3 to 5 week visual art classes. Programming will take place at ArtReach St. Croix in Stillwater between August 2011 and February 2012.
Funding to grow the Stillwater area literary arts community through monthly author presentations, quarterly writers’ workshops, promotion of local writers’ work and provision of space for writers to work and network. The project will begin in late January

75 photographs were selected from among thousands that were taken by John W.G. Dunn of the St. Croix river valley between the 1890's and 1941. The Marine Restoration Society contracted with Tomy O'Brien Jr. to review all Dunn photographs and to identify those photographs that were best deserving of greater historical interpretation. The locations of the photographs were researched, a list with information for each photograph was compiled and the selected photos were geocoded to aid future researchers.

This Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) project will develop a TMDL Report and Implementation Plan defining the sources contributing to the impairments and outlining the steps necessary to bring Bluff Creek back to meeting water quality standards.
This project will develop a Final TMDL report and Implementation Plan for the Bluff Creek Watershed. The main outcomes of this project are the development of a Final TMDL Report approved by MPCA and EPA and a Final Implementation Plan approved by MPCA.
This project will develop a watershed approach plan, including impaired waters allocations, for the Mustinka Watershed, located at the headwaters of the Red River of the North, in western Minnesota, lying partly in Grant, Stevens, Ottertail, Big Stone, and Traverse counties. The watershed approach plan will set water quality goals for the watershed, recommend allocations for achieving total maximum daily loads where waters do not meet state standards and are listed as impaired.
