Collaboration between African and Asian American artists to jointly create/present a new dance drama - Resonance.
Project Resonance orchestrates new creations of music and dances to serve as a communication bridge across cultural/racial lines, to mitigate racial tensions between African and Asian communities, to illustrate the cross-cultural experience, and eventually promote Intercultural Harmony.
Resonance inspires inner/outer connections to create sustainable impacts.
This project will reduce sediment to the Minnesota River, control erosion and reduce sedimentation in a local DNR Protected Water and protect private land and public infrastructure. The County Road (CR) 6 ravine (Quarry Creek) cuts through the Minnesota River valley bluff in Blakeley Township. Active channel incision and erosion within the ravine has caused large amounts of sediment to be deposited under the bridge at CR 6 such that the road is frequently flooded and sediment has to be removed several times a year.
In 2007, the City of Lakeland and the Middle St. Croix Watershed Management Organization identified water quality issues related to the existing drainage on Quixote Avenue, a paved north/south roadway directly adjacent to the St. Croix River bluffline. Currently, Quixote Avenue collects and drains stormwater runoff from residential lots and roadways before it concentrates at the end of the roadway and discharges over the bluffline directly into Lake St. Croix.
The City of Wyoming has proudly commenced construction of Railroad Park, a new and exciting addition to our community that will kick off the redevelopment of our downtown development plan. This vibrant community space is being developed in three phases as we work towards celebrating our City's rich heritage, honoring our veterans, and providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. The first phase of Railroad Park, which construction began on in Fall of 2023, is the Veterans Memorial portion of the project.
The goal of the project is to create a complete Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategy (WRAPS) report for the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District for inclusion into an updated Watershed Management Plan, including completion of a watershed-wide Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) report sufficient for EPA approval.
This project is a documentary film about the intercultural experiences of immigrants living in Minnesota. It features footage of live performances at the Southern Theater, followed by talkbacks with cultural leaders and scholars; and the voices of audience and community members, recorded in post-performance conversations and interviews.
Development of regional trail master plans for the Southern Scott Regional Trail Search Corridor (from Cedar Lake Farm to Cleary Lake Regional Park) and the Louisville Regional Trail Search Corridor including consulting services to prepare the master plans and facilitate a public engagement process.
This project will fund a Youth Executive Board (YEB) to create an anthology of youth stories and experiences that describe their identities, stories, and experiences. This anthology will include a variety of interdisciplinary art such as personal essays, poems, visual art, etc., and be a reflective and engaging multimedia project that highlights, preserves, and celebrates the cultural heritage and identities of YEB members and empowers communities to build and preserve their identities.
St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park. Replace campground shower building, dump station, well, septic, provide electric to campsites, water distribution to campground, trails, parking, and related infrastructure, landscaping.
This project restored and enhanced rare and unique plant and animal communities identified by the DNR's County Biological Survey. Over 293 acres of prairie, forest, wetland were restored and enhanced. Ultimately, the county was able to approach or exceed the goal of 20% increase in diversity across all three habitats based on plant surveys conducted.
Audubon Minnesota is requesting $910,000 funds to enhance 440 acres and restore 34 acres of significant wildlife habitat on public and permanently protected private lands along the Saint Croix River valley. Our project and parcel prioritization criteria place an emphasis on areas that fall within Important Bird Areas (IBA) and priority areas identified by the Minnesota Wildlife Action Plan within Pine and Washington counties that border the Saint Croix River.
