To create and implement curricula that meets Minnesota Education Standards and enables more thorough student access to veteran's history.

The Carver County Historical Society proposed to develop educational programs that would more fully utilize the newly redesigned Veterans Gallery. The programs were developed through a two-stage process. The first stage, developed for this grant, was fact finding in cooperation with Carver County educators. The second stage, would be program development.

Because of an increase in the number of donated items as well as an increase in museum visitors, the Lac qui Parle Historical Society determined to upgrade the security system. Nine high-resolution cameras, a monitor and a digital recorder were installed to increase the security of the Historical Society's holdings.

A documentary-type retrospective video was produced featuring the Minnesota Newspaper Museum at the 2010 Minnesota State Fair. More than eight hours of footage was filmed and used to produce the 15 minute DVD. The final product explains letterpress printing from start to finish including segments on the Linotype, Page Composition, the press, job shop and finally, a section on the editorial/news function of a newspaper. The final section also stresses the importance of newspapers, yesterday and today, in a democratic society.

To document in 3 to 4 interviews the history of the dance community in the Twin Cities.

To hire a qualified consultant firm to write an exhibit schematic design plan for the Wakan Tipi Center in St. Paul.

To research and design interpretive panels for the Wakota Bridge and Mississippi River Corridor.

To create a 40-page walking tour booklet and integrated web assets of Pipestone Commercial Historic District, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

To provide better organization of the archival materials, allowing for greater public access to the museum's historic resources.

To hire a qualified historian to complete the nomination to the National Register of Historic Places for the historic Waseca Downtown District.

To design, produce, and install a historical marker about the Washburn Water Tower in Minneapolis.

To hire a qualified consultant to develop a Historic Structure Report that will help preserve the Washington County Historic Courthouse, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

To hire qualified professionals to repoint masonry and replace the roof on the Wasioja Civil War Recruiting Station, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

To create a joint interpretive plan for the Wasioja Historic District, which contains five Civil War-era buildings.

To design and produce interpretive sign text and audio scripts for the Wasioja Historic District.

To contract with qualified professionals to prepare construction documents for the preservation of Wasioja School, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
