Measurable Outcome(s)

The manuscript has not been completed. None-the-less, we gave two walking tours of the commercial shopping node at 43rd and Upton at the 2021 Linden Hills Fall Festival. This tour drew heavily on the research recently completed on the commercial district. Summer of 2022, we offered two walking tours that drew heavily on research done for the new chapter in the book. This summer's walking tour covered an area that illustrated property from the early 1900's and an area what was presumed to be the full build-out of Linden Hills by the mid-20th century. The last part of the tour showed a new type of development promoted by the Minneapolis 2040 Plan that has three units per lot. At this walking tour, we discussed what influenced development and how has the community character evolved. For the four walking tours offered in the past year, approximately 70 people went on the walking tours.
We have been successful in sharing information with our community by consistently offering high quality events-speakers who have done their research and are able to share the information in a welcoming format. We also have built on a network of promoting the programs by an extensive email list, posting signs in the neighborhood, as well as event information in the neighborhood print and e-newsletters.
