"Right now positive social media content is of paramount importance, I am seeing so many people asking for this type of uplifting content to be shared. Now with many of the artists social distancing in their homes, they are unable to perform live. Though some of them can live stream, they are unable to share their work at the professional level of cinematic quality that I can.
Beyond creating content to give the viewer an escape, this project will promote the artists featured in it by making their music sh. I will know I have been successful when I have edited five music videos, one of each artist/group, out of the footage and audio I shot of them and posted that video to Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn in and TheCreativityShow.com. Another measure of my success will be completing a 20min live stream interview of each artist that will be shared on Facebook. Once the stream is over the interview will be on Facebook for anyone to watch in the future. I will also know I have been successful in completing this project when I share each music video and follow up interview with local news and media organizations. I will keep spreadsheets recording the views the videos get, and all the organizations I share the music videos and interviews with and include them in my final report.
Shooting, directing, editing, color-grading, audio mixing, and sharing the work I have done for this project has given me work sample material as well as showcasing some of the talented musicians of Duluth to highly influential TV industry producers. My work on this project has opened a big door for advancement in my career, starting with the day I shot these music videos, Philip Gilpin Dir. of Catalyst came to the shoot, I have been keeping him abreast of my progress since. Then he asked me to collaborate on an online platform that artists can use to share their work with TV industry execs. I jumped on this once in a lifetime opportunity to get a foothold in the industry. My work has involved zoom meetings with many international TV industry producers and execs looking to work in MN. I've shared the music videos in my meetings which has put the musicians on the radar of influential industry execs and created this possible opportunity for the music videos to be on a popular web series.
