Saint Louis River Area of Concern - Sediment Sampling and Bed Load Study

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) are currently working together to implement a comprehensive long-term plan to delist the Saint Louis River Area of Concern (SLR AOC). Many of the Beneficial Use Impairments (BUIs) in the AOC are linked to the presence of sediment contaminants. A Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study was completed at the Site and contaminated sediment was identified. The goal of this investigation will be to further delineate the extent of sediment contamination and to determine if there is an ongoing source of contamination at the Site.  This data will be also be used to amend the Feasibility Study for the Site.
