Tamarack's upcoming residency and presentation of ?The Lonesome Spectacular!? aims to: - Provide a focused creative environment for the Fox and Beggar Theater to develop a new touring circus production - Offer the Fox and Beggar Theater a chance to perform their show for an intimate and engaged audience, with the chance to receive community feedback afterward - Offer the Hovland (and greater Cook County) community an opportunity to attend and enjoy a free, high-quality stage production, and to return the next day to learn circus arts firsthand from professionals - Provide the community an opportunity for safe outdoor gathering and socializing - Develop TAP capacity for future artist residencies, performances, and events. We will measure this by learning more about the experiences had by the members of the Fox and Beggar Theater, and the experiences of the community members who saw the show. Attendance for FBT's 2021 Grand Marais show and "Camp Chips" was 100 and 50 people, respectively. Success for the June events will be at least 75 people. A big crowd on June 4th (and June 5th for the circus workshop) is one way to measure success?but certainly not the only way. With success, the FBT will return each summer for a residency and performance. We'll be in close communication with Nat after the performance; discussing the strengths and weaknesses with the entire project and any ways we might improve as a host and presenter in years to come. Additionally, we'll take anonymous audience surveys after the show on the 4th; to learn more about our community's favorite parts of the show, their least favorite parts, and their entire experience visiting TAP. These will be shared with the FBT and help them learn more about how Cook County residents view live performing arts. It will also be invaluable information as we move forward as a community event space and presenter.
