Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The goal of the Utility Art Wrap project is to increase connections with artists and downtown Chisholm. through place-making. We will accomplish this by visibly displaying the work of local artists on the utility boxes, and we will have engaged with local community members in the artist selection process, broadening the exposure of these artists to others in the community that may support their work. We will measure success by the completion of the project, generation of news and local coverage for the art, and engagement with the public via a celebration and through social media for promotion of the artist and work: 1. Two local artists with ties to the Chisholm Community will be provided an opportunity to display their work in the community. 2. A list of local artists will be created from the request for public art process. 3. New positive buzz is created in the downtown Chisholm via the local, regional, and statewide media. 4. New feedback/testimonials from new/existing business and residents/visitors.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The project continues to strengthen community partnerships, especially as it relates to continued investment in placemaking through art and downtown revitalization in the community. The goal of this project was to increase connections with artists in downtown Chisholm through placemaking. This was achieved via a public call for artists where we received over 20 submissions from local artists, the selection process was inclusive with the art selected via a group of community stakeholders including downtown revitalization committee members, downtown business owners, and elected officials. The two selected art pieces are an enhancement to downtown Chisholm, representative of the community, and continue to showcase Chisholm as a recreation destination. The chose art (1) the Heron that is often seen on Chisholm Lake by Chisholm artist - Amy Lucas of 321 Art and (2) an outdoor canoe scene that represents the Northwoods/outdoor recreation by a Virginia artist - Jane Wertanan (See Attached).
