Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The primary goal of the camp is to provide a venue and music so participants will improve their playing skills and renew their love of playing as a group in a fun creative atmosphere. All musicians enjoy a meaningful ensemble experience. Everyone learns and works together harmoniously toward the final performance. The camp renews enthusiasm for and sees the benefit of regular practice time. At the end of the camp, participants will have improved their musical playing skills and will leave with a refreshed state of mind. The comradery among musicians in the area and across North America strengthens the classical music community. The 2022 camp resulted in an individual who had not played her violin for 45 years reigniting her love of playing. She now practices regularly and plays with the RLCO. For the community, the goal is to provide local and affordable opportunity for everyone to hear fine classical and traditional music performed by local and visiting musicians. The number of participants, the number of new and returning musicians, and the size of our audience at the final concert are the major indicators of the success of the project. Positive comments from participants and audience are also indicators. Evaluation forms asking for feedback on venues, choice of music, accommodations, improvements, and best practices will be utilized. The number of views of the final concert on the KCC- TV YouTube page is another valuable measure in this post-pandemic world.
