Project Details

Roseau River Watershed District (RRWD) is initiating the first phase of a sediment reduction project on the lower reach of the Roseau River in an ongoing effort to improve both water quality and drainage efficiency within the lower reach of the Roseau River and its tributary ditches and streams. The project, once completed, will prevent 288 tons of sediment from entering State Ditch 51 annually. Over the projected lifespan of the five grade stabilization structures 2,884 tons of sediment and 2,884 pounds of phosphorus will be retained on the landscape instead of causing further damage to the waterway. RRWD would be the responsible party for maintenance of the five structures listed in this application.
