This funding is imperative to let me begin the process of distributing my film to a greater audience. It will give me a way to interact and connect with the post-surgical patients' rights and advocacy community further, as well as their own loved ones in their individual networks. This film is a personal, idiosyncratic and challenging way of legitimizing the experience for the tens of thousands that share this condition, not often depicted in mass media. The medium is easily shared and easily understood by a wide variety of audiences. It's a story I am ready to tell. Entering in film festivals will allow me to take the film around the state, country and the world and get the project the recognition it needs. I hope to get into at least 15 festivals. I will have surveys to pass out at the festivals, and I will collect feedback from peers and mentors. Questions may include: Did the film make an impact on you? What did you learn about life with a disability? Would you be interested to learn more about the subject matter?
