This project will help document and explore new territory that I have been feeling my heart and intuition guiding me to. I want to incorporate a more improvised, meditative style of singing into my concerts to make the experiences of my shows and presentations more holistically nourishing to those listening and to myself. So, as an artist, this will expand my skill of improvisation and also allow me to express myself more directly from soul to mouth. The skills that will be added in this case are mostly like the strengthening of a muscle?entering into a free flow improvisation state. Writing/arranging songs that work well for this meditative, heart-led style of singing are also a skill that will be gained from this project. To measure the changes, I'll ask five of my peers to fill out a survey after listening/watching the videos created because of this grant.
This was an amazing opportunity to explore a good balance between how much to plan and how much to allow for space of the Inspired to flow in. It was awkward at some points, but I learned so much about how to create an environment where this is possible t
