In 2010, 30,485 riders rode round trip.? The average daily capture rate of guests was 5.1%, with the high seasonal rate of 11%.With the grant, we purchased one bus in 2010 to add to the other 3 previously purchased at a cost of $215,413.27 with delivery on Aug. 10, 2010.? This is a low-emission diesel shuttle, with 28 seats from Hoglund Bus Company.?Assuming 4 riders per car, this equals on average 440 less cars within and around the Como Regional Park area driving around looking for a parking spot. ?Those vehicles over a course of 96 days of operation reduced their miles driven by 3 miles which would equal a total savings of 32.2 metric tons of CO2* not put into the atmosphere. This reduction of green house emissions is equivalent to:3,960 gallons of gas81.9 barrels of oil consumed Enough electricity use of 4.3 homes for one year Carbon sequestered by 903 tree seedlings grown for 10 years Carbon sequestered by 7.5 acres of pine forest Greenhouse gas emissions avoided by recycling 11.9 tons of waste instead of sending to the landfill
