ACHF Arts Access
Event attendees will report that this event increased their interest in and appreciation for poetry. Artists will report that they experienced a satisfyingly high level of audience engagement. Artists will report that they would like to participate in more unique, intercultural, art-focused parties like this one.; Event attendees will report that this event increased their interest in and appreciation for poetry. Artists will report that they experienced a satisfyingly high level of audience engagement. I am trying to streamline the methods to measure proposed outcomes by making them easy and/or fun to participate in, to encourage more people to respond. To measure whether this event increased people's interest in and appreciation for poetry, I will set up a station for people arriving at the event to respond to the question "What do you think of poetry?" To indicate their view, they will place a token in one of 3 containers. (the attached file will show the graphics for the 3 choices, which will be stationed below the posted question, to indicate whether people dislike/hate poetry, are lukewarm/indifferent toward poetry, or love poetry/are poetry enthusiasts). After the event, attendees will receive tokens to register their responses on their way out. Under the question "Now what do you think of poetry?" will be the same three choices as above. By counting the tokens in each of the before and after the event containers, I will be able to assess whether the event effected any measurable changes in participants interest in and appreciation for poetry. To ensure as many responses as possible, ambassadors and participating artists will be reminded to encourage all attendees to use the tokens to register their responses. To ensure the ten participating artists complete their survey, I will write into their payment agreements the expectation that they will complete the survey form and return it to me. To gain post-event feedback from the primary 3 participating partner organizations (GRRL, Higher Works Collaborative, Filsan Talent Partners), I will interview principles of the organization, listen to and record their feedback. ; Participants will vote before and after the event via tokens, registering whether they dislike poetry, are indifferent, or are poetry enthusiasts. Artists will complete a narrative evaluation form.
