Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

We'll be able to measure the number of students, bands, coaches/instructors, student-instructor promotion, concert attendance, and survey scores. However, the biggest outcome for us is inspiring the students to higher musical goals and instilling life-long appreciation for the arts: an outcome that sometimes will be years in the making, and cannot always be immediately measured in a quantitative manner. Students have expressed that the program has encouraged them to pursue higher personal goals for themselves (and not just music-related), encouraged them to further their music education, and provides a safe environment for them to express themselves through a unique musical outlet. We have many anecdotal stories each year from parents and former students about how this program has truly changed the lives of participants whether they go on to pursue a musical career or not. Many parents say that it has been the best program their child has ever experienced. Recently we've had students telling us how they met friends in the School of Rock, have gathered to practice in the months after the camp, and now they perform at coffee shops and in parks. 1) 2019 and 2021 registration information is used to measure actual enrollment numbers and compare to prior years for return rate calculations and elevation of student to student instructor role. 2) Concert program will list each band and their musical selections as well as instructor names and student instructors. 3) Quantity of tickets sales for final concert will determine if we have met concert attendance goals 4) Survey given to families following the camp provides feedback as to the perceptions of the organization of the event, the safety of students while in our care, and the more qualitative outcomes through comments that parents include. 5) Notes are taken by the 3 admin staff as they oversee the camp and monitor the classes in action. Aural feedback gained this way candidly from the students and teachers help us ensure the camp is serving its mission.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The outcome of this project was to broaden the musical experiences of Central Minnesota youth singers, families, and audiences to high quality choral music by offering a concert performance by internationally renowned choral ensemble, Chanticleer.
