Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

As a result of this project, ?Exploring History and Culture in Central Minnesota ? Hill Museum and Manuscript Library,? at least 100 adult and 50 youth will learn first-hand about cultures in Minnesota from across the world through their ancient manuscript traditions. Participants will experience presentations featuring various forms of the art of the book from ancient times to the present from Muslim, Egyptian Coptic Christian, Austrian and the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem and Malta traditions. The presentations will tie the cultures and work of central Minnesota to those of places across the globe, increasing understanding through information and education. Participants will also have the opportunity to see original books and manuscripts at each of the four partnering central Minnesota county historical societies through the traveling exhibits that will be at each location throughout the series. As a result of the project, at least 100 adult and 50 youth will have a greater understanding of Minnesota's varied and continuously growing cultural heritage, increasing their knowledge and capacity to appreciate those with whom they share the state. The awareness and empathy the project seeks to create will help foster better understanding within the central Minnesota community and the world. Attendance numbers for each event in the series will be collected and documented. Audience comments, whether verbal or via the chat feature in Zoom, will be collected and documented by site staff and volunteers for each presentation in the series and included in event reports. A short post-event survey will be sent to each attendee to gauge the success of the series and its impact. Comments generated in the future from those viewing the post-event recordings will also be reviewed and will inform future programming.

Measurable Outcome(s)

We increased attendees to our concerts and built connections within our community. Many cultural heritages attended within our community. A survey at the root beer float stand demonstrated increases in attendance and cultural heritages. The MCBS Music in the Gardens committee analyzed verbal and written feedback collected from the performers, attendees and visitor feedback.
