Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The outcomes we hope to achieve are: that attendees gain a deeper understanding and appreciation about gospel music; that attendance reaches at least 400 people; and that we see some repeat attendees from previous similar concerts.; One of the measurable outcomes will be that attendees learned something about gospel music, whether they be someone familiar with gospel music or someone brand new to the style. A paper survey will be handed out prior to the performance, and one of the questions will ask attendees about their level of knowledge about gospel music prior to the concert and after. The second measurable outcome will be attendance. The goal is to sell at least 400 tickets to this concert, which will be measured through a ticket sales report. The third measurable outcome will be to see how many of the Steeles concert attendees returned for the Blind Boys concert. If the results show that there is some crossover, we will have learned that there is an audience building for this type of music. We will evaluate the outcomes through a paper survey that will be distributed to attendees, reviewing ticket sales and by examining attendance lists from both the Blind Boys of Alabama concert and those of previous gospel concerts at the Paramount.; Audience members will each be given a paper survey to complete at the beginning of the performance. Ushers will be on hand to distribute these to each audience member. During the pre-show welcome, a Paramount staff member will encourage patrons to complete the survey and drop it in a collection box following the show. Once the show is over, and the surveys have all been handed in, the house manager will collect them and deliver them to the Performing Arts Director for review and assessment. Ticket sales will be evaluated after the concert by running a sales report to see number of tickets sold.
