The workshops Joel will lead will help us create new, different, and more interesting things for this event. We hope by making plans to be a bit more creatively ambitious with this version of the event we'll increase participation and attendance. Also we anticipate young people being especially energized by the chance to work with Joel, who is very charismatic and "cool." We know the promotional content we'll be able to produce featuring Joel and his work with our community, and the event itself will be highly valuable. We'll compare workshop participation between this event and the previous one, tracking the age of attendees, and asking how they heard about the project. Participation and recruitment for our teen art club will be tracked by the group's moderator. The resulting video and photography we can use on our (soon to be live) website and on social media will be self-evident promotional materials.
Our participants met for seven rehearsals, a dress rehearsal and then final concert. We had good attendance at our concert, estimated at about 300 individuals, as well as excellent attendance by musicians at rehearsals. We took attendance this year by having the instructors verify presence. An e-mail submitted anonymous survey following the course yielded very positive feedback.
