Individuals of All abilities want to enjoy the arts. WACOSA will work with a professional artist to bring art to individuals with severe cognitive and physical disabilities and medical fragility.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Outcome: WACOSA will accommodate barriers to the arts for 100% of class participants. Evaluation Plan: All class participants will be provided accommodations, as needed, to maximize inclusion in the arts. Outcome: 80% of class participants will express appreciation for the arts, following completion of the 4 week project. Evaluation: WACOSA staff will document course participation and observed improvements made by the participants, which include but are not limited to fine motor skill improvement and increased ability to regulate their emotions. Our target audience for this project include adults with disabilities with severe cognitive and physical disabilities with medical fragility. Many of those folks are non-verbal and use facial expressions to communicate their wants and needs. WACOSA staff will use anecdotal information from caregivers and family members about the participant's response to the experience to assist in gathering measurable data. ; Access ; Learning WACOSA staff will use the evaluation form to record accommodations, if any, that were provided to the class participants to allow them to join in the activities to their fullest potential. WACOSA staff will use the evaluation form to document anecdotal information through observations and class participation. At least 80% of class participants will express appreciation for the arts, following completion of the 4 week project. Photographs will record that 2 permanent pieces of art have been installed on the interior walls within WACOSA 1st Ave.
