Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Using prior year participation information as a baseline, we will compare involvement to the Juried High School Art Competition this year and determine what practices to adjust to encourage, promote, and maintain interest in this extremely valuable experience. We will require each student to submit an artist statement to be used in the judging process and as a means for the young artist to reflect on the journey from conception, planning, and execution. This is an important element of the professional experience. We will provide an optional outline for artists to consider while writing their statements, but welcome and are most interested in their reflections on the project. Post exhibition surveys completed by both the student artists and instructors will assist in our assessment of the exhibition, and how future competitions might be adjusted to best serve the student artists in their professional development. ; Access ; Learning ; Community The Paramount Center for the Arts will track student artist participation, measure exhibition attendance (or monitor website visits, in the event of a virtual exhibition), and survey student artists and the instructors who are assisting facilitate the exhibition. In addition, we will communicate with our juror for their assessment of the established protocols and structure of the competition.
