Phase II: Development of Content for Duluth African-American History Project
To hire a qualified historian to research the history of African-Americans in Duluth.
Phase II of the Duluth African-American History Project created visual panels representing local individuals' experiences and connections to industry, work, social networks, and civil rights activism. Utilizing the completed Duluth African-American Oral History Project and archival materials, the project enhanced understanding of Duluth's African-American history by combining oral history excerpts with portraits, research, and photographs from personal and public archives. This initiative covered a wider scope of Duluth's African American history by incorporating earlier historical resources and oral history archives.
