Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Partnerships are developed between social service organizations and arts organizations to better serve underserved communities. Real or perceived barriers to participation are identified and addressed.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Through our partnership with Juxtaposition Arts we were able to build a strong relationship with local artist to a high caliber of art to the residents that we serve and help residents build connections directly with the artist and arts organization. We measured our intended outcomes by the number of arts related projects we were able to accomplish over the past year that we would not have been able to do without this relationship. Through the Partners in Arts Participation grant we were able to design and produce t-shirts for staff, volunteers and community residents that we previously had never been able to do. We hosted a community arts activity for our back to school event. And we created a Summer Guide booklet that was produced and printed 10,000 copies to distribute across the north side of Minneapolis. The tools and methods obviously varied with each project, but all were projects we previously did not have the funds, skills or staff capacity to accomplish before the grant. 2: As a secondary outcome of our partnership, we were able to produce a Northside Summer Arts and Community Guide that contained arts and community activities happening in north Minneapolis between June and September. This guide helped us highlight the many great programs happening our community from large to small organizations and it provided a great leverage and marketing opportunity for many other organizations that couldn't themselves leverage the reach our Summer Guide had. This tool helped to overcome a real barrier to communication about programming and we were able to address this in a small way through this method. We hope to continue the summer guide next year as well. Juxtaposition helped us additionally with our marketing for our largest community event, Live on the Drive. Through Juxtapositions collaboration on our marketing we were able to create engaging marketing that helped draw in younger audiences and provide a more inclusive welcome to the community event.
