Partners in Arts Participation
ACHF Arts Access
Partnerships are developed between social service organizations and arts organizations to better serve underserved communities. More Minnesotans are able to participate in the arts.
The partnership between People Incorporated Mental Health Services and ArtiCulture resulted in specialized programming designed specifically for adults with mental illnesses and other disabilities. People Incorporated has more than 40 years of experience in helping people treat and stabilize serious mental illness as well as regain and improve their independence. ArtiCulture also has had great success in providing arts programming to people with mental illness and disabilities. The partnership resulted in five five-week sessions at three hours each to adults with mental illness and other disabilities. People Incorporated's Artablity Coordinator, ArtiCulture's Executive Director and the workshop instructor met to evaluate the success of the programming both during and after the project was complete. Evaluation of session attendance, instructor's notes and observations as well as participants' survey and check-in information provided achievement indicators. 2: We exceeded our goal (70 participants) of providing arts programming access to more Minnesotans with 76 total participants in total. Programming attendance was documented by the program staff and the totals were compared to the initial goals that were set during the development of this program. Program participants provided their contact information including their home address which allowed us to track what counties were being served.
