Partners in Arts Participation
Perspectives will collaborate with four artistic masters to offer extended learning camps to elementary and middle school students to provide exploration in puppetry, hip-hop, sculpture, and songwriting in a trauma sensitive environment.

85% of Kids Connection students will demonstrate social-emotional growth and development through their participation in a KC Extended Learning Camp. Social-emotional growth, such as student behaviors and student-teacher interaction, will be measured through the 2nd Step Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum at the beginning and end of each workshop along with Parent/Student Advisory discussion. 2: 80% of students will strengthen comprehension of math and literacy concepts embedded into dance, puppetry, sculpture and music Extended Learning Camps. Math and literacy skills will be measured though Teaching Strategies Gold, an evidence-based measurement tool, along with observation and student portfolios.
86% of students surveyed expressed enjoyment and/or demonstrated artistic and social-emotional growth through work with the Expressive Arts Teacher. Our Dir. of Evaluation surveyed students about arts programming along with getting 1:1 tours of student art projects. When asked how do you feel about working with Ms. Toni on art projects the average of responses was 4.3 on the five point scale. 2: 100% of enrolled school-age children received Kids Connection support to enhance their hybrid/virtual education during pandemic. Measurement: Attendance records. During our weekly meetings with ISD 283's Social Workers/Teachers, they've said that Perspectives' interventions have been essential to the consistent attendance, engagement, and nutrition of our children in 2020.
