Lyngblomsten will significantly expand life-enhancing arts engagement opportunities to older adults participating in Lyngblomsten programs throughout the greater metro area.

Perceived or real barriers to participation are addressed. Partnerships are developed between social service organizations and arts organizations to better serve underserved communities. Social or human service organizations use arts to help achieve their service goals.
Through this grant, 164 older adults living in a four county area enjoyed the arts for the first time or were able to renew their interest because economic, transportation, social and logistical challenges were met. Participants were recruited through two of our Home and Community Based Services programs - The Gathering and the 5-5-1 Club. 2: Most of our arts programming thus far has been focused on our Lyngblomsten Saint Paul Campus. The arts have helped us to engage older adults, build their skills, confidence and sense of community. In our sample of evaluations, 71% of attendees said the experience was enhancing to their lives, 86% indicated that their participating was enabled by eliminating barriers, 66% indicated that their skills improved, 98% want to continue participating (!), and 48% indicated an increased sense of community.
