Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Our goals, as a young organization, are to continue to offer an excellent level of instruction through a wide range of classes for diverse interests. Specifically, we wish to develop depth in some of the programs, offering intermediate and advanced classes, particularly with blacksmithing and weaving. The additional operating support helps keep a paid staff person who coordinates all the programming and administrative needs. The Board has a goal to increase staff hours. People vote “with their feet,” and lack of interest in particular classes or events gives a clear message. Although the reasons may not always be clear, many factors are considered in assessing what to consider or alter: scheduled time, location, season/weather, conflicting activities, personal conflicts, and insufficient notice or marketing. Students instructors, EFS members, and the public are regularly asked for feedback about programming they would like to see happen. Statistical analysis of class enrollment and cancellations be used. Evaluation of the blacksmith curriculum and the staff time available will be done.
