Grand Rapids Players, committed to providing performing theatre opportunities for all, continually focuses on feedback from our constituents through a variety of outlets. We've upped our network and invested in MailChimp to reach out, personally to promote our events and encourage feedback. This help us chart our next courses of action, including programming(show titles, genre, etc.) and participation in community events. We look at our organization's finances to make wise decisions in affordable program planning and expenditures. Our monthly financial reports include individual reports at the conclusion of each production to see where the money went, where we are trending, and revenue sources, so that we can re-evaluate and move forward, better. As a result of a 2-day Visioning Retreat through Propel (Blandin Foundation funded) with Lindy Holliday at the helm, we worked on a 3-year plan to set goals and strategies for moving forward as a sustainable organization. As noted above, we rely heavily on feedback from our constituents as well as what's happening in our community. Grand Rapids Players attends monthly meetings of The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and GRArts, giving us a birds-eye view of up and coming events that we might be able to participate in. Feedback arrives in a variety of ways; daily through social media outlets, including our website, responses to our monthly Mail Chimp, letters to the editor, and periodic surveys at the end of our productions. Any and all communications and updates are presented monthly at our regularly scheduled board meetings. Discussions and brainstorming ensue. When appropriate, responses are sent to individual communications. An open invitation to attend our board meetings is posted on our website page. ; GRPlayers wants to be sure that our broad public audience knows that our programs are accessible and available. Except for our theatre camp, no fees are required to join our program opportunities. Theatre camp offers scholarships, upon request. Our Arts community benefits through participation in the production or being in the audience, enjoying live entertainment and features 2 matinees per production. We offer mentoring for any/all who are interested. We are accessible through several social media outlets, 13 different printed and 4 online newspapers in an 80 mile radius, 2 radio stations(KAXE, KOZY) broadcasting live interviews, and keep our website updated. A monthly MailChimp newsletter has 1500+ subscribers. Our performance venue is ADA compliant. We are members of the Chamber of Commerce and participate in Taking Care Of Business, First Friday Art Walk, GRArts, Community Ed, Art in the Park, Tall Timber Day and Bovey Farmers Day parades and more.
